*** LIMITED PRODUCTION ***

GTM will manufacture a limited number of Dr1 kits each year. The shopping cart will be active when we are making some kits.

Celebrating 18 years of selling the 1/4 scale Dr1 kit, GTM is very proud to release a 1/3 scale Dr1 kit. This model is rich in detail and scale fidelity; from the spruce box spars to the scale hinges this kit will offer the builder a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction. Over 1400 parts are marked and carefully packed to ensure easy identification and safe shipping. The CAD drawings call out each part number and include details showing how parts assemble. The Dr1 is not a complicated build. The photo instructions ensure easy understanding and related information for builders at all different levels. The history and vast paint schemes make the Dr1 a marvelous WW1 subject. The Dr1 assembles and dis-assembles easily. The two top wings can come off together, the bottom wing drops down and the remaining components will travel well in all different size vehicles; which makes this model a joy to take to the field. This kit can be built for the Sunday flier or for the serious competitor, all the detail is there. The Dr1 is a very good flying machine with the expected ground handling characteristics. This kit builds light (<32lbs) which results in better flying and ground handling. You will notice that the kit has maintained the original outlines and building techniques, such as, the box spar, bungee systems, metal hoods, scale hinges and functional cowling. You can choose to build the fuselage with dowels or square sticks. The prototype successfully used dowels which recreates the metal tubing look quite effectively. Email and phone support will help answer any questions you might have as you build your Dr1. As with any GTM product spare parts are available.
